For donors who love local causes, CFHZ is the place

Local Giving, Local Impact

Most charitably-minded individuals and families support a wide variety of charities year after year. The causes they support represent a range of motivations, including personal experience, a role as a volunteer or board member, family tradition, or alignment with values and community priorities.

We know that many of the charitable organizations donors support are local. CFHZ’s unique position as a hub for both charitable giving and expert local knowledge makes us a great resource for individuals, families, and companies who wish to make an impact on their community.

Here are three reasons that matters:

  1. You can tap into our team’s knowledge about specific organizations, including financial information, data about the impact of a charity’s programs, and observations of an organization’s areas of greatest need.
  2. You can choose from a variety of fund types depending on your goals. A nonprofit fund, for example, allows you to set aside tax-deductible dollars that are dedicated to supporting a specific organization. Another example is an unrestricted fund which is part of the Community’s Endowment. These resources are distributed to fit the most pressing needs and exciting opportunities in our community.
  3. You can work with CFHZ to create a charitable estate management plan which supports community needs for generations to come, honors your legacy, and may minimize your tax burden. As a perpetual organization, the community foundation ensures that charitable giving stays strong in our region to address important needs as they evolve over time.

Of course, if you establish a donor advised fund at CFHZ, the fund can support local causes as well as national and international causes. As the hub for your charitable giving, our tools and our team are dedicated to helping you achieve your charitable goals both near and far. Working with CFHZ, no matter what your charitable priorities may be, is itself a strong show of support for philanthropy right here in our community.

We always encourage donors to first seek the advice of their legal, financial, or tax advisors when considering a gift of non-cash assets. While our team does not offer tax advice, we stay knowledgeable on charitable giving strategies.
