Best Wishes, Yah-Hanna!

We have bittersweet news to share that our phenomenal Director of Community Impact, Yah-Hanna Jenkins Leys, will be transitioning from her role at CFHZ at the end of March to become Senior Program Manager at the MillerKnoll Foundation.

We are excited for the expertise Yah-Hanna will bring to this work and the impact locally and globally that we know she will make in her new role. At the same time, we will deeply miss her presence on our team and we celebrate the difference she has made for the Holland/Zeeland community during her time at CFHZ.

In her nearly three years here, Yah-Hanna has played an instrumental role in shaping our grantmaking as we responded to the unprecedented challenges of Covid-19 and launched our revised grantmaking strategy for Community’s Endowment resources last year. Yah-Hanna worked tirelessly to support our nonprofit partners, Youth Advisory Committee, and Distribution Committee in navigating all of these changes with confidence and integrity.

She also served as our first College Success Coach for our Holland/Zeeland Promise Scholars in her first year and half with us, helped our Youth Advisory Council run their first ever Youth Racial Equity grant round in Fall of 2021, designed and led the process to distribute resources from the National Network to Innovate for COVID-19 and Adult Vaccine Equity (NNICE) Project to local partners in Ottawa and Kent Counties, and so much more!

In all that she does, Yah-Hanna strives to center the voices and experiences of those most directly impacted by the needs we are working to address. She listens deeply, shares generously, and has a profound care and commitment to building a community where all people can thrive, living into their full human potential. We are grateful beyond measure for her choosing to invest her time and talent with our organization for a season and her work will continue to benefit our community far beyond her tenure here. We wish Yah-Hanna every success in her next chapter!
