Exclusive to West Ottawa High School Students

Community Service Scholarship of the Community Foundation

The Community Service Scholarship awards a $500 scholarship to one male and one female student from each of the following schools: Black River, Holland High School, Holland Christian High School, West Ottawa High School, Zeeland East High School, and Zeeland West High School. Members of the Foundation’s Youth Advisory Committee support the school selection committees in the nomination process.
Scholarship applicants will be reviewed according to the following criteria:
• Academic excellence as demonstrated by a minimum high school GPA of 3.0.
• A record of community activities and leadership positions in extracurricular activities with a promise of outstanding leadership in the future

Anne E. Dirkse Memorial Nursing Scholarship

This scholarship established in memory of Anne Dirkse awards a $500 scholarship to a graduating senior from either Holland High School or West Ottawa High School who demonstrates a passion for a nursing career.
Eligibility Criteria:
• Enrollment in a 2 or four year accredited college or university in Michigan
• Academic success as demonstrated by a 3.0 GPA or higher
• Leadership and service to the Holland/Zeeland community
• Financial need
• A passion for a career in nursing

Scholarship recipients will be selected by the Scholarship Selection Committee of the Community Foundation of the Holland Zeeland Area.

Panther Fund Scholarship

The Panther Fund Scholarship awards a $2,000 scholarship to a graduating senior from West Ottawa High School who intends to pursue a post-secondary education.  This scholarship is renewable for up to four years in the amount of $2,000 per year. 

Scholarship applicants will be reviewed according to the following criteria:
- Applicants must be graduating seniors from West Ottawa High School
- Applicants must be accepted to a two or four-year accredited college, university or vocational/technical school
- Financial need is a key consideration
- Involvement in West Ottawa athletics
- Extracurricular activities

Scholarship recipients will be selected by the Scholarship Selection Committee of the Community Foundation of the Holland Zeeland Area.

West Ottawa Class of 1999

The Class of 1999 established this scholarship to award a $750 scholarship to graduating seniors from West Ottawa interested in pursuing a higher education in a two or four year accredited college or university.
Scholarship applicants will be reviewed according to the following criteria:
• Academic performance as measured by high school GPA, rank in class and national test scores
• Demonstrated leadership and service to high school and community
• Contributions to Class and West Ottawa Schools
