Up, Up & Away! Event a Success May 3, 2011 kicked off a series of celebrations for the Foundation as it recognizes 60 years of community foundation work in the greater Holland/Zeeland area. Fresh look, new exhibits in the works at Holland Museum

Holland, MI — It isn’t spring, but it was time for a cleaning at the Holland Museum. The museum is closed through Jan. 16 as employees and volunteers tidy up and make improvements. A new front desk and reception area with more gift shop space are just the start. The Focus Gallery, which changes four times a year, will be decked out in Cat in the Hat red and white stripes for the Secret Dr. Seuss exhibit to open when the museum re-opens its doors later this month. Community Foundation awards grants to local nonprofits

Community Foundation awards grants to local nonprofits Holland, MI — More than $87,000 of grants have been awarded by the Community Foundation of the Holland/Zeeland Area in its third and final grant round of 2010. The 18 grants to area nonprofit organizations ranged from ranging from $2,000 to $8,000. They target critical programs and innovative community efforts that address local needs and improve the quality of life for residents of the Holland/Zeeland area, the foundation noted.
